Polaroid SX-70 Manipulation
The Polaroid SX-70 manipulations were created by projecting a slide image onto Polaroid time zero film using a Daylab unit. As the film was developing, the image was manipulated by using a sharp tool on the surface of the Polaroid to alter the image. The end result is a photograph with a "painterly effect." Polaroid discontinued time zero film in December 2005.

Infrared Photography
The infrared images were created using an infrared filter on my digital camera. The filter turns anything with chlorophyll white. The result is a summer scene which looks like a beautiful winter scene.

Polaroid Emulsion Transfer
The emulsion transfer process involves placing Polaroid 669 film in very hot water to "lift" the emulsion layer from the photographic paper. The emulsion layer is then transferred onto tile or watercolor paper and manipulated to give it a wrinkled effect. Polaroid 669 film was discontinued in March 2009.

Coasters
The coasters are handmade using a gel medium transfer. The SX-70 or digital infrared images are transferred onto 4"x4" tumbled marble tile, giving each coaster its own "distinctive look." Any of the SX-70 and infrared images posted on the website can be made into coasters. Custom made coasters using your own photos can also be made upon request.
